Description (ca. 1921):

The Park Avenue Hospital was a red brick three story building. It had only 40 beds and was referred to as Dr. Whitbeck's hospital. Dr Whitbeck was a highly respected surgeon who was deeply interested in community health, particularly the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis, and commissioned the construction of the hospital in 1894.
