Description (ca. 1921):
George Eastman's Home on East Ave completed in 1905. The property included working farm land, formal gardens, greenhouses, stables, barns, pastures, and a 35,000-square-foot (3,300 m2), 50-room Colonial Revival mansion with a fireproof structure made of reinforced concrete.

The massive Colonial Revival included modern conveniences such as an electrical generator, a built in vacuum cleaning system, an elevator, pipe organ, central clock network, and internal telephone system.

Eastman commonly used the house to host the musical culture of Rochester and various parties to generally promote the Rochester community.
