Mediocre Investigator

Calvin Hodgkins is a fairly average looking young man. He is of average height, perhaps a bit skinny, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He typically wears a dress shirt and pants with suspenders and a hat and overcoat to top it off. Though, his clothes are mostly hand-me-downs from his father, so they fit him somewhat loosely.

Biography (ca. 1921)

Born and raised in New York City, NY, Calvin’s family, was not poor, but they didn’t live in luxury either. Calvin’s father was a shoemaker and it seemed Calvin was destined to carry on the family business. However, as Calvin came into adulthood, he had a different plan for his future. Calvin always considered himself a Sherlock Holmes-esque investigator, and one day, not long after his 21st birthday, Calvin borrowed (stole) some (all) the money his parents had hidden away and set off to become a world renowned detective.

Unable to find a job at with any police force, Calvin decided to offer his services to the general public as a private investigator. While managing to carve out a meager living solving riveting cases, such as “the mystery of that old lady’s missing keys,” Calvin was still unsatisfied and wanted more. He set off to Rochester to investigate some suspicious rumors he heard about a local bakery, Torta Signore. Upon arriving in Rochester, he bought himself a room on the third floor of a seedy hotel not far from the bakery. From his new “office,” Calvin offers his services to the people of Rochester, while also snooping around Torta Signore at every opportunity.

Despite touting on about his investigative prowess, Calvin seems to be blissfully oblivious to the goings-ons in his current residence, Cherry Suites.
